Bialik: King of the Jews

By the age of thirty, Chaim Nachman Bialik had already become the most famous poet in the Jewish world. When he died in 1934, some 100,000 people attended his funeral. King of the Jews is a portrait of the most beloved Jewish cultural figure of his time. Combining special animation, narration by acclaimed actor Chaim Topol, rare archival footage, long-forgotten photographs, songs based on Bialik’s poems performed by Ninet, and interviews with leading Bialik scholars worldwide, the film tells the story of the boy from the shtetl who became a cultural king.
